The COVID-19 pandemic has had a direct impact on the increased incidence of depression and anxiety experienced in the US, creating a second pandemic of mental illness. This practice focused Community of Practice (CoP) addresses content relevant for practicing behavioral health providers working in community health centers. The CoP will address patient centered care planning, enhancing cultural relevance in clinical practice, mindfulness-based CBT, strategies supporting behavioral activation, and pharmacotherapies for depression and anxiety. Facilitator: Joe Hyde, MA, LMHC, CAS 

Joe Hyde, MA, LMHC, CAS, currently serves as the Director of HRSA’s Behavioral Health Technical Assistance initiative supporting integrated care in community health centers. In this role, he oversees programs that address workforce development, adoption of evidence-based practices for the treatment of mental illness, alcohol use disorders, opioid use disorders and other substance use disorders (EBPs), and systems change. He is a licensed clinician with more than 30 years of experience treating adults and young people with mental health and substance use issues working in both community mental health centers and as a behavioral health consultant in a community health center. 

Earn 1.5 continuing education credits from The Association for Addiction Professionals (NAADAC) and the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) for each CoP session, with a maximum of 12 CEs for participation in all eight sessions.
